A large 24" imposing industrial clock made in England by well known clock makers Magneta Electric. c.1940
Likely used on a railway platform, this clock has been stripped of the unappealing beige paint and polished to an industrial finish. Heavy gauge steel housing with clean face. Original self starting 240v movement rewired.

About the maker
The Magneta Time Co. were based at the Goblin Works factory in Leatherhead, Surrey. As a company there were instrumental in the development of public clocks with many still found at railway stations today. They manufactured synchronous, impulse, turret and even advertising clocks where commissioned by architects. Outside of clocks they also produced fire alarms, telephones, loudspeakers and many other electrical items.
