Huge 36" Gents of Leicester Railway Clock
Huge 36" single sided wall clock by renowned electrical company Gents of Leicester. c.1930
Believed to have originally hung outside Colbert Railway Station in Limerick, Ireland before a recent redevelopment, a very large and imposing single sided clock, with crisp white dial featuring oversized Arabic numerals and Gents' iconic arrowed hands. In wonderful time-worn condition with original black factory applied paint. Original 240v movement running perfectly.
Note: Internals are accessed via removable manhole to the bottom of the clock. All 3 fixing lugs must be used when securing to a wall.

About the maker
Gents of Leicester was formed in 1872 by John Thomas Gent and later registered as Gent & Co. In 1903 they produced an electric clock system labelled as the 'Pul-syn-etic' - a master and slave series of clocks that would go on to revolutionise the workplace and public spaces alike. Gents' electric clocks can still be found in public buildings, railway stations and factories all over the world to this day - a testament to their superior design, build and quality. In the field of electric clocks, Gents products were routinely specified by architects for their simple style, quality, reliability and foolproof installation in any situation.
