About the maker
MEK-ELEK were formed in 1931 in London and were instrumental in the design and development of task lights mainly found on lathes and other heavy machinery throughout the 1930s and 40s. Their lights were designed with many functions in mind and were available in an array of types and sizes for bench, machine, floor, wall and ceiling mounting. MEK-ELEK lights are renowned for their ingenious joint design which allows free movement of the arms giving a complete 360° rotation and protect the cable from being nipped when the arms are moved. MEK-ELEK lights remain a true testament to Great British over-engineering!
